Kleefstra syndrome: speech and language study published!
The Kleefstra syndrome speech and language study Expanding the phenotyping of Kleefstra syndrome: speech, language and cognition in 103 individuals has been published in the Journal of Medical Genetics. We know that speech is commonly affected in Kleefstra syndrome and this recently published international study is the first of its kind and offers important insight into the syndrome.
There were 103 participants with Kleefstra syndrome, ranging from 8 months to 43 years and from 26 countries, who took part and were assessed on their speech, language and non-verbal communication for the study. Many of our UK community took part in the research and we are grateful to Lottie Morison from Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and her team, as well as all the participants – it is so important to take part and help to further our knowledge of KS for the future.
